California Privacy Notice
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy for California residents and describes rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA"), where that law applies. Some information handled under financial-services laws may be exempt; an exemption does not automatically apply to every website visitor or inquiry.
1. Notice at collection
The categories relevant to the Site and inquiries are identifiers and contact details; professional and investor-profile information you provide; commercial or inquiry information such as your stated investment range and interests; and internet or network activity, including IP address, device/browser information and interaction events. These come from you, technical interactions with the Site and, when enabled and permitted, analytics or advertising providers. Investor-verification information may be requested separately, subject to applicable notices and legal requirements.
We use information to answer inquiries, provide requested materials, manage relationships, operate and protect the Site, meet legal obligations and, when permitted, analyze usage or measure and deliver advertising. The inquiry form submits information to Capital United through HubSpot. Optional analytics and advertising are used with your permission.
Current inquiry recipients include HubSpot and Salesforce. Tracking services include HubSpot tracking, Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn and Google Ads, with Google Tag Manager used for tag management. Zapier supports backend integrations. Hosting, security and communications providers, affiliated funds, professional advisers and authorities may also receive information as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not send form messages, accreditation details, investment amounts, verification documents or account information to advertising platforms.
We retain information for the purposes described, including applicable recordkeeping and legal obligations. Retention depends on the record and its purpose. Optional-provider retention settings will be documented before activation. Essential storage durations are stated in the Cookie Policy.
2. Sale, sharing and targeted advertising
We do not sell inquiry information for money. Advertising technologies can disclose online identifiers and activity for cross-context behavioral advertising or other purposes that may be a "sale" or "sharing" under the CCPA, even without a monetary payment. These tools are used subject to your privacy choices. Optional analytics and advertising remain off unless you enable them.
You can opt out at any time using . This turns optional tracking off in this browser. You can also email us about an opt-out associated with information we hold. We honor recognized Global Privacy Control signals by keeping optional analytics and advertising off. You do not have to create an account to opt out. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of people under 16.
3. California privacy rights
Where applicable, and subject to legal exceptions, California residents may request to know the categories and specific pieces of information collected, their sources, purposes and recipients; obtain a copy; request deletion; correct inaccurate information; opt out of sale or sharing; and limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information. You have the right not to receive unlawful discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.
We do not use sensitive investor-verification information to infer characteristics for advertising or to build advertising audiences. Information needed for a requested financial service, legal compliance or required recordkeeping may be handled under applicable exceptions.
4. Making a request
Email privacy@capunited.com with the subject "California Privacy Request," or write to the address below. Describe your request and how to reach you. We may need to verify identity and authority for access, correction or deletion requests; do not send passwords or full account credentials. Requests will be handled within applicable legal time limits, generally 45 days for a verifiable access, correction or deletion request, with any permitted extension explained.
An authorized agent may submit a request. We may ask for written authorization and verify your identity or the agent’s authority as permitted by law. For browser-level opt-outs, use the privacy control above or a browser that sends Global Privacy Control. A choice in one browser does not automatically apply to other browsers or devices.
